Peach!

7 maart 2024 - Cape St Francis, Zuid-Afrika

Last night we were gifted with a wonderful nights sleep. So much so that I was awake just before dawn and was drinking my coffee on the deck watching the sun rise. How beautiful!

We got dealt a Peach today! (A perfect day weather wise). Sun, no wind and blue skies. How magical can it be? Ingrid had her Pialtes lesson at 10 am so we did a bit of the puzzle that we had been given by brother. It is a weird one this with a circular form and pieces that have odd forms on the outer rim. This makes the puzzle extremely challenging as the border is not straight. Not to mention that the inner part of the puzzle is also frustrating as the colours are too similar. A real challenge.

After brekie, the plan was to do the shopping and then to drop Ingrid at Pilates and I would go to the beach and wait till I could pick her up. This plan was altered as the sun was already pretty strong and one is advised not to be out in the midday sun. I went back to Jackpot to fetch the beach umbrella that I had seen in the loft room. I did do some puzzling, and soon I was back in Dusty to pick Ingrid up and go to spend time on the beach.

Let us say that the beach umbrella although looking next to new was almost useless. The spines on the inside were all but 3 broken, so we could not get the umbrella into a real useable from without a boer making a plan. WIth our timid umbrella in "working order" we moved to the shelter of the dunes and that was the correct call.

How much more does one need. Perfect weather, some shade and watching the ocean being tamed by surfers who are maximising our Mother Nature, just in a different way. Some stoked people here today! The water was inviting and we swam twice. Ingrid took another step in her water safety journey and went under the water to let a wave pass over her. Proud of that girl! Slowly slowly gets the worm!

It was a pity that we had to leave the beach, but it was either that or curse tonight that we should have gotten out of the sun sooner. Home for a shower and lunch. Lovely yoghurt with fruit and meusli. We sat on the deck enjoying a cup of coffee before I went upstairs for an afternooner. I had no idea why I felt so tired. I had slept well last night and not done too much this morning. I think that I was in lala land in record time. When I awoke Ingrid was also eyes shut in the bunker. I tried to be quiet, but she arose soon after I had boiled the kettle.

It is quite amazing that when one has time, one takes the time. No rushing here or there or just quickly doing this before I have to do that. I have to say that approximately 98% of my day I have nothing in my head. Just follow the rythm of life and make choices sort of on the spur of the moment. Thankfully Ingrid and I tend to think similarly and we roll with the moment. Makes us enjoy even more so the wonderful weather and place that we are in!

As per usual late in the afternoon we set of in Dusty for main beach and our afternoon dip. Neither of us had the inclination to go onto the water so we just sat on our towels and watched the surfers doing their thing. Quite common here we struck up a conversation with some Oomie (Man). Another complete stranger. Super!

We still both have no idea as to what the future holds, but if I win the lottery I think that I know what we will do!
