Beasterly Easterly

Up at sparrows and although it was overcast, the Beasterly Easterly wind was blowing. The wind makes for a very uncomfortable day weather wise and the temperature drops a few degrees as the wind is blowing in off the colder ocean and has no time to warm up on the land before it touches Jackpot. Not cold by any means, just colder.

I spent the early morning watching the grand prix (F1) on TV. Brother has DSTV here and they broadcast the races with the English commentators. Although Max was again pointing and steering his rocketship to the checkered flag the battles behind made it interesting. After that I zapped to the Paris Roubaix cycling race. They were showing the ladies race and it helped pass the time. Later I sat down at the puzzle and Ingrid had begun on a paint by number painting and Mom busied herself with some sewing. One of the trouser pant legs on Ingrid's pants had come loose and Mom sewed it back on. Thanks Mom. Avo on toast for breakfast and that was about the morning.

Early afternoon we went to the shop in the Village for some groceries. This time Mom again tried to make us buy somethings that we did not have a need for and Ingrid diffused the situation. Most other shops were closed of course on a Sunday so there was no real option to do a bit of shopping, although we need for nothing. At Jackpot I watched the last 10km of the mens cycle race on TV.

Back at home we got a visit from Mother in law in law who had just that morning run a race in PE and did a South African Record time for her age group. She is almost a Max Verstappen knocking off the old records one by one! Well done! She had injured herself a bit before the race around her SI joint. It did not hamper her running, but she was a bit stiff and sore aftwerwards. Time for a rack and crack on the picnic table outside. We laid a yoga mat on the seating portion and put a cushion on the side for her head. Chiropractic treatments do not take more than a few seconds once you know where to adjust. Kind of like typing a letter on a keyboard. Once you find the letter, just press it and the magic starts. Unfrotunately unlike a computer it is not instantaneous, but the body is a wonderful thing. If you allow it to function the way it is intended, you can make a big difference. 

As a chiropractor "fixing" the problem is not always only about fixing the problem. We try to understand the mechanism that causes the problem, but sometimes it is just "bad luck". Mother in law fits in to the it was just bad luck category for her issue. I am sure that she will heal faster now.

We all bundeled into Dusty and took a scenic drive around the town and beachfront. First we went to the wild side as it is known and then drove back to the lighthouse and main beach and then took a road or two off the beaten track just to see. We saw houses and streets that we had never been to. We could not see everything in 1 day as there would be nothing left for the future.

We did not even cook last night after our luch time pies. They were brilliant, but filled perhaps just a bit too much. Mom and Ingrid continued where they left off on the series that they are engrossed in and I got onto the laptop to watch a movie on Netflix.

Beasterly Easterly had blown the whole day and it has been the first day were we really were forced to do something other than normal. Flex and be dynamic.
